The current Socialist in Chief did win the Nobel Peace Prize. I don't think Reagan ever did that.

You got me there, Ken.

Comment on Ronald Reagan – Socialist

Peepers:
I believe that I've written a critique based on facts and hard data rather than mere opinion. I hope that you can return the courtesy.
How many millionaires did Ronald Reagan "make"? It's just that after the liberal Jimmy Carter had the whole country feeling all introspective and blue over an 18% rate of inflation and a soaring unemployment rate, with the rest of the world laughing at us (sort of like now), I just sort of remember how good it felt when Ron Reagan made it okay again to be optimistic, and powerful as a nation.

But you're right, Reagan did make a lot of millionaires. I suppose that's something the socialists probably found particularly egregious.

Anyway, have a nice day.

Comment on Now youre messing with a son...

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that nothing seems to be progressing on the access road off Worcester Street? When did they start the project? Was it last September? When I drive by every day all I see is more dirt being pushed around. But real progress? Not seeing it. Let's hope this project doesn't turn out like the one in Oxford where the company went belly up after doing nothing more than pushing dirt around for almost a year. Anyone out there in blog land have any information?

Comment on Ronald Reagan – Socialist

Peepers:
There has to come a point when somebody asks, “Just how dumb are you?”
Do you want to deal in reality, or just some manufactured mythology?
Mamby-Pamby, intelligentia, gobbly-gook? I’m sure you must be telling your children (if you have any) stupidity is the key to success. Don’t learn anything that contradicts what I tell you to believe.
Do you really believe that Ronald Reagan single-handedly brought down the Soviet Union?
Have you forgotten that he financed the military of Iraq under Saddam Hussein as well as the building of chemical plants that produced the chemical weapons used against Iraqi Kurds?
Have you forgotten that he provided support to Iran through the Iran-Contra debacle and that when the truth came out he claimed he didn’t know about it? Would you let “Barry” Obama slide by with that kind of BS?
Have you forgotten how he cut and ran from Beirut after the bombing of a military barracks there?
Have you forgotten that his single military “triumph” was bombing Khaddafi’s camp in Libya after Lockerbie and killing Khaddafi’s infant daughter?
Face it. The spin merchants working for the Reagan legacy machine who also sell sugared cereal to your kids on Saturday morning cartoon shows have suckered you. And now they are going to work for the George W. legacy project. Like P. T. Barnum said, there’s one of you born every minute. Your mantra is “Don’t confuse me with facts.”
The Reagan Counter Revolution was nothing more than a system of socialism for the wealthy. It has become the pattern of the national Republican power structure and the facts show it. Rob from the poor and give to the rich has become the unspoken motto of this group of Robin Hoodwinkers.

Comment on Ronald Reagan – Socialist

It reminds me of how Reagan dealt with his feelings towards Khaddafi - he bombed Libya!!

Comment on And now, a few mintues with Andy Rooney

Stephanie J. I can fight this. I might as well prepare for it.

And not everyone visits the stages in the same way. Some begin with Anger first then go to Denial while others are in Denial and never move onto Anger, while some skip and go into Depression without every finding acceptance or anger, or bargaining or denial.
